Technical Project Manager

Location: Alexandria, VA

Atlas Tech, a veteran-owned IT company serving multiple DoD customers in support of America's warfighters, is looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) with expertise in infrastructure background to drive technical meetings, provide critical insights, and ensure seamless execution of infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical acumen with effective stakeholder coordination to optimize processes and deliver high-impact results.

You Will:

  • Oversee and manage infrastructure-related tasks, ensuring compliance, and performance tracking.
  • Conduct and lead technical meetings, provide expert input, and facilitate decision-making based on technical and business priorities.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure smooth execution of infrastructure projects, aligning with business goals.
  • Identify potential risks in task execution and technical implementation, proactively addressing challenges.
  • Manage infrastructure tasks related to AWS cloud services and PeopleSoft ERP hosting, ensuring operational efficiency, scalability, and compliance.
  • Lead discussions on AWS architecture, PeopleSoft deployment, and security best practices, providing key technical recommendations.
  • Coordinate with cloud service providers, PeopleSoft administrators, and internal stakeholders to optimize hosting solutions.
  • Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress and deliverables. Share project plans with stakeholders.
  • Manage changes to project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques. Report project progress as well as problems and solutions to stakeholders and escalate as needed.
  • Manage the relationship with all stakeholders. Establish and maintain relationships with third parties.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Meet with stakeholders to take detailed briefs and clarify requirements of projects.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through post-project debrief with clients.
  • Document all estimates, project statuses, and project completion paperwork.
  • Work with technical teams to generate ideas for technical projects.
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs. Evaluate and assess the results of completed projects.

You Have:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • A minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance
  • Proven experience in managing AWS-based hosting and PeopleSoft environments
  • Expertise in cloud infrastructure, stakeholder management, and technical project execution
  • Ability to lead technical meetings and translate complex cloud and ERP concepts into actionable strategies
  • Familiarity with security, compliance, and performance optimization for cloud-hosted applications
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Thorough understanding of project management techniques and tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong decision-making and leadership skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.

Must Haves:

  • Working experience with ITIL Processes and Agile teams
  • Self-Motivated, strong work ethic and commitment to quality
  • Understanding of information technology systems including end-user computing devices

We would be impressed if you have experience with:

  • BA/BS or higher degree
  • 6 or more years of professional experience as project manager for IT software and/or IT service projects spanning 6 or more months.
